IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM YOURS UNRULY—
Re: Our Asylum Colors
Attention: All Inmates of the Asylum
Dated: September 12th 2012
The Asylum needs to have some interior decorating take place and you, the Inmates, are due for art therapy.
CONTEST BRIEFING –
HFA is now accepting submissions for the group’s future logo(s). Entries are restricted to one per member. All submissions will be showcased in the Inmate Art Therapy Session scheduled for September 25th, 2012 once the contest officially closes.
Contest submissions due: Tuesday, September 25th 2012 @ Midnight (Eastern Time)
Email submission file along with your name to: horror.fans.asylum@gmail.com
Contest winner(s) will be announced and contacted: Wednesday, September 26th 2012.
RULES –
1.Inmate submission must be original. Room and board in the Asylum is no excuse for plagiarism. Pleading insanity if caught stealing other’s work and presenting it as your own is unacceptable and will eliminate you from this contest.
2.Admins, if should choose to participate, cannot vote for their own submission.
3.One entry per member. Non-members need not participate. Any submissions from Inmate acquaintances will be ignored.
4.When submitting a design, Inmates are required to include their name, which is the one they use in the current Facebook group, in the body of the email. This is to ensure that winners are contacted and individuals are recognized in group therapy. This is also to filter out non-member submissions.
5.No size or shape restrictions. That being said, please keep in mind that the size should be functional for what it will be used for – potential banners, posters, and to be put on member shirts. But at the same time, remember that sometimes, less can be more. Get creative! File format is open, but universal formats are preferred – pdf, png, bmp, jpeg, etc.
6.Do not spam your entry to the HFA’s email. Once received, an Admin will send an email stating it has been received and is up for consideration. If you do not get this email within a day of your submission, please resubmit or contact an Admin on the contest file. We only need one copy – if you choose to spam your entry, you will be disqualified.
And lastly, keep in mind that submissions must be appropriate for display online, in public at conventions, at group activities, as well as at charity events. Potentially being viewed by any age group, that means NO profanity, inappropriate gestures, tasteless nudity, or excessive gore and guts (unfortunately!). As an Inmate, use your best discretion when designing.
By submitting your image to HFA, you understand that, if selected, becomes a part of the group’s identity and property. You may not profit from, nor reproduce this image. By extension, you also understand all the above contest rules and will abide by them in your design. If there are any questions that you feel are outstanding or that this memo has not touched upon, post to the contest file and an Admin will get back to you as soon as possible.
PRIZES -
So what does winning get you? Well, aside from obtaining the title of being the most wicked, menacing, fear-mongering, blood-coagulating, and deeply disturbed inmate (…or so we will let you believe!) in our cozy little asylum..
3rd Place – In horror, what usually happens to the third wheel? ‘Nuff said.
2nd Place – So close! Lucky for you this contest wasn’t for outrunning zombies or you’d be brain food!
Runner-up will have their design shown on smaller AFS swag to be announced and released at a later date.
What’s horror without a little mystery, thrill and suspense? That’s right – you get the mystery prize! Not because the Admins haven’t decided what it is, but because surprises keep us all on edge! As an Inmate of the Asylum, it is guaranteed to make you scream.
1st Place – Know that you’ve clearly got the eye in the Asylum – perhaps two if you’re lucky!
We are offering the winner a one-time placement opportunity in a special room on the Admin ward! That’s right – if should choose to accept – the winner shall be offered placement on HFA’s design team! If refused, opportunity falls first to 2nd place, then 3rd place.
Not only do you get an awesome opportunity, you will also be one of the first recipients of a personalized Asylum Inmate t-shirt courtesy of our friends at StylinOnline – free! You helped design it, so wear the swag proudly!
Note – In order for prizes to be given to the winning recipients, Inmates will have to provide HFA a valid mailing address when contacted. Winners will have until Friday September 28th 2012 to respond to HFA and accept or will otherwise forfeit their prize. Prizes will be shipped with regular postal service.
Pretty fangtastic, right ghouls? You have an un-lucky 13 days to send off your submissions – so stop gawking, pick up your brains, and get those creative juices a-flowing!
